When gathering data for our project we needed information besides numbers. To get this we conducted interviews with students and professors. We sent emails requesting interviews and asked them questions.

Here is an example of an email that we sent out when requesting interviews:

My name is ________ and I am a first year journalism/docs studies major at Ithaca College. I am currently enrolled in the class, Journalism Research, where we are researching for our final project. For my final project, I am researching the Diversity requirement within my school’s liberal arts program. If you are more interested in what the ICC is, please refer to this link: http://www.ithaca.edu/icc/iccquicksummary/. The idea is to compare this requirement to other colleges/universities in their own programs available to students. If possible, I would greatly appreciate setting an interview time with you discussing your opinion on. Please let me know if this is possible. Thank you.
