DIVERSITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The purpose of this project is to take a closer look at diversity standards from higher education institutions. We are specifically looking at racial and ethnic diversity from different schools on the east coast of the United States. We are curious about the way institutions present themselves versus the way students on these campuses actually feel.

WHAT DIVERSITY MEANS TO US
We believe that diversity is a complex concept that encompasses race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion and socio-economic background. We believe that because of these things everyone's walk of life is different; their experiences and how they view the world are unique and cannot be compared to others. Additionally we believe that conversations about diversity are important and should be talked about in all spaces. The lack of conversation in spaces contributes to an ignorant environment where there is an unwillingness to learn about the people around them.
